Could numbing cream be used for piercings, and anyone who has used it for them, how well would you say it worked?
Post Body

I swear I'm not a huge pain wimp. I have lots of tattoos, and recently became interested in getting some piercings. I've had my ears pierced a couple separate times as a kid (before I knew they shouldn't have been done with guns, but then again I wasn't old enough to dictate where we went for it- had them done 3 times and got infected every time because of it), and it wasn't really that bad. Back at the end of December I decided to finally get my septum pierced, and it HURT way worse than I was expecting (not that I was expecting it NOT to hurt, but practically everyone told me that it's really not that bad. I would give it a solid 8 on the pain scale, but then again can I really judge it like that with my lack of piercing experience?). For a long time I've been interested in getting both my nostrils pierced (I think the chain that connects them that some people have looks incredibly badass and this is why I want to get both my nostrils pierced). So I asked my friends that've had both done, and universally it seems that the nostril hurts WORSE than the septum, which blew my mind because for some reason I was under the assumption that they should hurt less than the septum. So this is what brings me here. I know if I do numbing there will still be some pain, and I'm totally okay with it. But I was wondering... Can you use numbing stuff for a piercing? I know some people do it for tattoos (ironically enough I love tattoo pain, piercings... I can't seem to handle them as well), but can it be done for a piercing? If someone has numbed their piercing site, did it work okay? And if I'm numbing up for my nostrils to be done, should I be numbing the inside of my nose as well as the outside? Obviously if numbing isn't an option I'm still going to get them pierced and just tough it, but if I can make it hurt a little less I will.

TLDR; had my septum done and it hurt like hell when everyone told me it would be an easy piercing. Everyone is telling me nostrils are worse, but I really want both nostrils done, and was wondering if you can numb up for piercings, how well it works, and if I use it, if I should be applying it inside my nose as well as outside. TIA!
