Piercing newbie and PA vs Apa.

I didn't get my first piercing until I was 30. It was a basic septum. A year later I got my Industrial done, my favorite piercing and one I'd wanted for years.

Well, it's about time for piercing #3, and I've been leaning heavily towards making the jump to a PA instead of more facial piercings like I originally planned. Then I found out about Apadravya piercings. They look incredible, and other threads around here have really hyped them up while also keeping it real that, yes, it's going to hurt (duh).

I've seen quite the range of piercings after finding this sub, but I'm curious to hear from folks perhaps a little closer to my situation.

Anyone around here make a similarly significant leap, or even started with one of these piercings as their first? Start w/a PA and later went back for the Apa, or went straight for the apa? How was your experience?

I'm a stickler for cleanliness so no worries there. I think my only real concern would be healing time and summer music festivals. Last year my ear wasn't 100% healed and got quite gross, but not infected. My primary festival does have river access though and it would be a shame to not be able to enjoy that in the heat. Though I do also tend to shower/bathe at least once if not twice a day at that festival.

I'm also not exually active rn, so that is a big deciding factor in doing either of these now while I've got nothing going on.

Current plan is to schedule this piercing for January/February, giving me 5-6 months of healing time before said festivals. I do also have a piercing studio selected, recommended by a friend who has done their due diligence researching before any of their own piercings done.

Thanks for any and all input!
