Getting the best source on information for piercings

I spent some time researching piercings and noticed I’d get some conflicting information. There are some YouTubers who said things within the same vein (like a PA takes 6 months to heal) but then my piercer said thing’s that conflicted that information (like PA only takes 2-4 months to heal) and I’ve been wondering where I can find I guess the best source of information. I had a Frenum that rejected (granted, I feel like it’s partially my fault for going to the beach only two months after I got the piercing, and not having the curved barbell switched to a straight one after it settled) but after having this happened, I feel much more ready getting a PA, ampallang, or apavadrya. It’s like I had a trial run with the Frenum.

Did you guys just talk to your piercer about it, or was there a specific source of information that lined up perfectly with your experience? Or is everyone just different?
