So my iPod just died

I don't want a phone, technically an android tablet, but a small one. I really liked my jailbroken iPod touch, and I was wondering if I could get a similar pda/small tablet device with android on it.

However, one major gripe I have with Android is the GUI, is there any way I could change it. (another note, I've used android before, but every time I have the phones lag up when flipping a page or something, I'd like a device that runs the OS smoothly).

*EDIT: I also would like a built in keyboard, not a touchscreen one.
