Mariposan?

So, the ship Beverly and Jack were on was identified as a Mariposan medical ship. Mariposa was seen in "Up the long ladder" (the episode of TNG with one "modern" society - but mostly of clones with no breeding stock - and the "Irish immigrant" colony. In the episode, Riker and Pulaski are kidnapped to extract genetic material for cloning.
Is anyone else foreseeing a future connection in S3 between this episode, and Jack's existence?
