Should I exercise my foreskin when I'm hard? I feel like that'll be more helpful right?

I've been doing the exercises when I'm not hard. I just wanted to ask if doing them while I'm hard would be better or more effective? Since I mean my main objective is to being able to pull it back during sex. It pains more when I'm hard but wouldn't that help stretch it more? Do lemme know your thoughts.
