Was NOT going to post here, however my wife convinced me that I should as my journey may help someone else down the road.

I acquired secondary phimosis in my mid to late 40's due to some weight gain. Secondary phimosis happens to men who were previously circumcised, when the foreskin has the ability to push over the head of the penis and can become tight.

Along with this issue, I also experienced a tightening of the meatus as well as urethral strictures due to passing of kidney stones.

So after fighting with the phimosis issue on and off for several years I have been working with a few Dr's to resolve the issue. first we tried some creams, one worked for a while and I was issue free for about a year or two before it set back in. This last time around creams, stretching, rings, oils, NOTHING worked.. It was painful to have sex, after a while it was slightly painful all the time as I lost a significant amount of weight and now everything was tighter. Started working with a VERY good urologist near me and after about a year he convinced me to have the surgery. It was time considering we had to do an optiloom to fix a stricture. He advised that while doing this since I would be under anesthesia, he could perform ALL of the needed work and I would not have to deal with these issues again. Well the time came and the wife and I discussed it A LOT.. we decided to go ahead with it all.. My surgery was this past Friday early morning. He consulted us right before and was concerned with some of the foreskin areas and advised that doing the dorsal slit alone may NOT resolve this issue and he would like consent to repair the foreskin with a partial circumcision's if needed. We did agree to consent...

After the surgery, the Dr discussed with my wife everything that was done. He did the Optiloom to fix the stricture, opened up the meatus, performed a dorsal slit, as well as cleaned up the foreskin ALL THE WAY around the penis ( called it a partial circumcision) even though no skin was removed. Monday I went in for my follow up and he was amazed at how well everything is healing. My penis is no longer trapped behind the tight foreskin and flacid is actually about an inch longer than before surgery. The Dorsal slit does look a little funky, but with already being circumcised we were afraid to cut more skin as I am losing weight steadily. I had very little pain, did not need any of the prescribed pain killers, Tylonol worked just fine... Did another follow up with the dr at 5 days post surgery and I have been cleared to go back to my normal duties including working out (lighter than normal) just no sex just yet. I do feel some pain when I start to get an erection, but Ice helps keep it down. My next appointment is in 3 weeks and hope it is all healed by then.
