FS: Slidgo X8 aka Levy Plus aka Turboant X7 Pro e-scooter aka HX X8 aka Hover-1 Blackhawk -- $200
Post Body

SOLD

Intro:

I am selling my Slidgo X8 Plus (extended-range) e-scooter. It is a model which gets rebranded under a few names with some feature differences, so it is also known as the Levy Plus or the Turboant X7 or the HX X8 or the Hover-1 Blackhawk.

The main difference between the rest and the Slidgo is the battery pack, which uses high-capacity Samsung cells and the tires, which originally were both solid.

I removed the front solid rubber tire and replaced it with an air-filled tube tire and added slime inside to prevent flats. I have kept the air-pressure steady and have never gotten a flat. As long as you do the same you should have no problem with flats since the tire slime will self-heal any small to medium sized punctures.

The reason for the tire replacement was comfort. Having an air-filled front tire makes the ride a lot smoother, so if you see any reviews about a bumpy ride, remember that this has been mitigated.

The battery is still in great condition. I ride the scooter about twice a week to visit friends and do errands. It is light enough (33lbs) that it can be carried up stairs easily and even placed in a shopping cart when buying groceries.

Why am I selling it?

It is a basic mid-range scooter that I bought to see if I liked scooting around, and it did very well in that regard. I decided to move up to a high-end Segway model which has a drawback in that it is much heavier, but otherwise is a big upgrade.

This is a perfect way to try out this convenient transport method because it is fine to use as-is for the rest of its life, or as a stepping stone to another much more expensive one.

Full disclosures:

  • Has been ridden in the rain a few times without ill effect -- it is waterproof for rain rides but it isn't recommended by the manufacturer

  • The brake needs adjustment. Any bike shop should be able to do this for a very nominal fee or you can do it yourself. Besides the disc brake it also has a rear 'step' brake which will always work (just put pressure on the back fender and it will stop quickly)

  • Even with the air-filled front tire the ride is a bit rough on bad streets and terrible on cobblestones. There is no way around this, you just have to get used to it. Scooters with suspensions cost 3 times as much and are heavier, so that is the trade off

  • Purchased 11/29/2021

Full specs:

  • 12.8 Ah Battery with Samsung cells
  • 36V, 350W (700W peak) motor
  • 10" tires -- rear solid, front pneumatic tube
  • 19MPH max speed, range ~12miles in 'sport' mode (this is the mode you will always drive in)
  • 33lbs, foldable
  • IP54 waterproof rating
  • Double braking system with rear disc brake & foot brake and E-ABS front brake
