Help an Aspiring Pilot

Post Body

I'm a grade 12 student aspiring to be a pilot here in the Philippines; however, disputed padin ako kung paano ako magiging piloto. As of now, I have sought three options:

  1. Study in PATTS for Aeronautical Engineering ( 5 years ) -> Flight school (ppl-cpl)

  2. Study in Airlink for BS Aviation Major in Flying ( 3 years, ppl and cpl included, it's basically a flying course but with a BS already)

  3. Take some other course unrelated to Aviation like mechanical engineering or nursing(favored by my parents)for the BS then go to flying school

What would be the best course of action? Would it be better if I took AMT(4 years only, cheaper, but many graduates of this course are left unemployed) or Air Transportation( easier, cheaper, but as a back up, job opportunities are not what I have in mind) instead of Aeronautic engineering? Would I even be employed with any of these options? I've been hearing a lot o people saying it's really hard to be employed in the aviation industry despite the high demand.

I would be the first pilot in the family if ever, and we have 0 connections with the aviation industry. My greatest fear would be investing so much and making my parents work hard only for me to fall into unemployment and crushed dreams.
