Moving to Cebu this June, worried about language barrier

Two weeks ago I posted that I got offered a job in Cebu. I've now accepted the job offer and will be moving next Month. I'm concerned with how Cebuanos take non-natives, particularly non-bisaya speakers. I'm willing to learn the language and plan to start when I arrive there, I'm just wondering if my lack with the command of the language will affect the quality of my stay there, at least at the early parts.
