I was walking on my way to Ayala Bloc Cebu from my accommodation during my visit in mid 2023 when I asked two security guards (of some establishment) where Ayala Bloc is. Not only did they point me to the right direction, they also helped make sure I did not get run over by kamote motorists- one crossed with me on the pedestrian crosswalk and the other extended their arm to stop incoming vehicles. I was overwhelmed with the swarms of motorists that kept on zooming past through the crosswalk despite pedestrians having right of way!
I was so touched by the guards' kind gesture that I wanted to thank them eternally.
Kudos to the manong security guards for going out of their way to help out a terrified visitor- you are good humans!
PS: I am aware that we Filipinos are highly regarded for our hospitable nature, but what the two security guards did fatten my heart. Actually, I think it is the fact that this wholesome experience took place in the motherland that gave me this buoyant feeling.
