TW: grooming/pedophilia

I recently came to know about a friend's personal story that her coach had sexual relations with her. It started out when she was 15 years old (JHS - Grade 9) and the coach/teacher was 41 years old.

She told me that she considered it "minahal ko talaga siya" when it was happening. However, when I discussed grooming/pedophilia to her, she realized that it was what happened to her. She also uttered these words, "When I open my socmed, I feel like hindi na ako maka relate sa mga kaedad ko because of what happened to me. I am triggered when I see young girls with an old woman kasi I remember myself when it was happening.

It lasted for almost 6 years and nag-end lang last year. There was also a financial aspect when it was beginning, kaya nakuha ang loob ng friend ko kasi her family was not really there to actively support her sports and schooling. She was showered with gifts, etc while the sexual/romantic relationship was happening. The school did not have an idea or even had a slight idea but it was brushed off because of the same sex aspect and the coach was highly respected. Kawawa talaga friend ko kasi parang it felt like a prison to her.
