If they are ever going to add new equipment to the game, I would really like to have a thermal camera. It could be used to see the ghosts position and track it. Or maybe it could be a new evidence type.

OP, we are weeks away from the progression update-where every item will have 3 tiers. maybe your idea is somehow already incorporated into the gear??? We haven't seen the dev preview for video cams yet.
We'll have to wait and see. I'm stoked!!
