First of all I'd like to say that this is definitely my fault and I'm in no way puting the blame on my friends .
A few months ago my friends invited me to play phasmo with them . It was my first time playing while they had a bit more experience and they would help me>!!< understand how the equipment works , how to hide etc. We were having a blast even though we were all bad at the game .
At some point I decided to start playing solo for a bit when my friends weren't available so naturally, I started looking up ghost behavior , experimented with nightmare mode a bit more and soon enough I started doing 0 sanity 0 evidence. The problem is , we reached a point where I would understand the game much better than them , started identifying the ghost by walking speed , blinking yada yada , while they had absolutely no idea how any of it worked . They wanted to play casually and thats perfectly fine.
It's just that I feel bad because sometimes I immediately know what the ghost is but I don't want to say it so I won't ruin the fun for them but that feels awkward, having to pretend for a bit that I'm on the same page as them so they can also enjoy playing .
I've tried to get them to learn more about the game so we can be on a more even field but to no avail ( which again , perfectly understandable).
Sorry for the long rant , I don't want to abandon my friends I just wish we could at least go back to the older days when we were all clueless and had mindless fun getting hunted and screaming like crazy . I hope at least one of you good people can relate to that .
> this is definitely my fault and I'm in no way puting the blame on my friends .
This is not the fault of anyone. It's just a tricky situation all around. I mentioned this in another comment in this thread, but it's also relevant here: maybe a better solution would be to find a different game that you and your friends can all enjoy more, and find ppl more on your skill level in phas to get your phas fix in. If you're lookin for more evenly matched phas buddies, I know ghost personalities pretty well and, when the recent no evidence weekly challenge happened, have started dabbling in no evidence runs. Hit me up if you want to play a game or two together.
Nah. OP just needs to find phas buddies of a similar skill level to play with.
also, there's a reason they usually make patch notes/update notes really detailed: so ppl who are super into ghost personalities can stay in the know.
Here's an example: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/739630/view/3339995286952592740?l=english
Note how much info about the 3 newest ghosts the devs have given us.
Right, cause they wanted players to figure some things out themselves.
The depth of phas is why I'm still playing, 500 hours in. I love it!!
Don't forget that 2, 1, or 0 evidence is officially part of custom difficulty. You haven't done a damn thing wrong. They're just hatin.
Have you ever tried a no evidence run, or are you just blindly assuming here how it feels as you're playing it and being unnecessarily judgy? I did my 6th attempt last night, and it feels like a whole new game and the same game, all at the same time. It feels magical to figure out the ghost with no evidence, even more so than only using the 3 standard evidence.
> you’ve changed the way the game was intended to be played.
Then why did the devs hard code 2, 1, or no evidence into custom difficulty settings? No. OP is playing the game exactly as the devs intended-in the way that feels the most fun to OP.
I have 500 hours in Phas, have learned a lot about ghost personalities, and have recently started dabbling in no evidence runs. "just don't think about ghost personalities" is absolutely not possible for me anymore. It's instinctual and automatic at this point, and it happens as you are gathering traditional evidence. OP does zero sanity runs on top of no evidence runs, which means they are better at phas than i am. I don't think OP can just stop thinking about ghost personality things either.
OP, maybe a better solution would be to find a different game that you and your friends can all enjoy more, and find ppl more on your skill level in phas to get your phas fix in.
> be the one that constantly goes to the van for more gear
also, how much fun is OP going to have mostly being pack mule for their friends? That's why refuse to play medium maps and SM solo-cause it's too much of a PITA moving all that equipment around.

See, THIS sounds like a possible way for OP to play with their friends and still have fun. Much better than the "just stop thinking about ghost personalities" suggestion someone else had. I'm sorry, it's just too ingrained now, things like "turned off the breaker, can't be a Jinn!!" come into my head automatically.
