Draining Job
Post Body

I applied for this job because I already have a background in Pharmacy and being a technician is a good stepping stone (for me) to becoming Pharm D. But working in retail some days just drain you. Last night a man claiming to be in a wheelchair wanted to buy syringes through the drive thru. I was at front but I could hear him screaming. He was already in a sour mood because the wait in the drive thru was 40 mins (according to him). He dropped his money then blamed my poor co-worker. He wanted to buy syringes but the gauge that he wanted, we don’t have it. He kept yelling “you’re a liar!!! You guys are giving shots and you don’t have syringes???!!! LIARS!!!” He said he already went to 5 different locations and none of them have the gauge he wanted then he went on a yelling spree.

I wasn’t at the firing line of his yelling but it was draining me. I don’t know if i want to continue with this job. I like it and it’s a good experience. I want to apply to as a tech in hospital but usually hospitals want a certified tech and 1 year experience. :( I’m only working for 2 months :(

Sorry i guess I’m just ranting. Any suggestions with how to diffuse the situation in the future?? I’m not really good at situations like that. I just shut down.
