Expired License. Should I even recertify?

Post Body

So I was a CPhT in texas from 2015-2020. My mom passed away in 2018. And I decided to leave the medical field shortly after, because I was too desensitized to death and I let my license expire. I've been doing logistics since. I thought about going back because I'm getting a bit too old to physically keep up with the younger people.

I contacted my state board and they said I would have to take the test again. Which I am fine with, but thr PTCB says I have to be enrolled in a course in order to test again. And that cost a bit of money and takes a few months. I was wondering if there's even a point of recertification if I have to go through all that again. Thanks in advanced.
