I work for an inpatient pharmacy in Texas. I have been a pharmacy technician for 10 years now and I am looking for some advice about requesting market adjustments and how to professionally go about asking for one. Me and about 7 other coworkers have been with the company 2 years or more and have all been techs for even longer with retail and hospital experience. We work in multiple area of our pharmacy and all have the title “senior pharmacy tech”. Our problem is that we all make 20$ to 23$ after our 3$ raises from becoming senior techs. And this is with years of experience. We have recently come to find out that new hires for students straight out of school are starting out at 23$. Now we believe that if a student is making 23 then at the very least we should be at 23 before our senior tech raise. There are about ten of us who want to ask management for a market adjustment that is fair to us. How do we go about approaching management with this request that is professionally and politically correct?
