Currently on my master's year. I've always gotten high grades but had really shitty grades in the final year of my bachelor's - during the semester we were all in lockdown for the first time. I was stuck at home but I don't really have any issues there's, I was just unable to focus and unable to motivate myself.
Since starting my master's I've lifted my average back up but I was hesitant to apply last November when everyone else was because of my terrible transcript and lack of research outcomes on my project. Since receiving my semester report back, making actual research findings and being invited to a follow-up meeting on it with some academics to add to my CV, I decided to start applying. So far I've applied to around 5 opportunities and while I've gotten really positive feedback, they've all been full.
Now it's march and I'm stuck. I have nowhere to go in October. The only programmes that are left are ones I find completely uninteresting. It feels like I'm in a massive catch-22 now and I just wish I'd worked harder in my bachelor's year.
