Grad School in USA with IBS-D?

Post Body

I am planning to apply to grad school (PhD English in USA) this fall. Anyone here with IBS or similar disease? How do you cope? Do you discuss it with your mentors/faculty/supervisors? Any insights or advice? Do you request for and are granted any specific or special assistance when you are flaring? I have been dealing with mine for 2 years now and last year when I got it, I took my time to get used to it. I figured my local foods out. I also understand our health system. I work full time and while I struggle, I am kinda open about it at my workplace and with my boss. Not that it helps but still. I usually flare in the evenings and by the time I am usually home so for now it’s working out. How do I figure out that the schools I am applying to will be a little understanding?
