I’ve recently completed a PhD at a Russel group university (UK). Minor corrections and the internal examiner has emailed me to confirm they’re all ok. She hasn’t yet contacted the degree administration dept, however, my primary supervisor has asked me to provide some data to go towards a publication he is working on. I will but it will take several weeks to reorganise the data for the publication. As a result, he has told me his is going to delay my corrections being approved until I have completed this task. Is he allowed to do this, and is he responsible for signing/approving anything post viva?
