starting a phd in chemistry in fall. What kind of laptop should I get?

I am wondering whether to go for a mid range gaming laptop for better specs.. I have heard that its difficult to install certain software on macbooks? Also i would like to do some light gaming when time permits lol. I would like to know what kind of laptops chem grad students normally use. Thanks in advance!
