The character Mike has been mentioned a few times throughout Petscop. Notably he has a grave that claims he died in 1995, he is quoted in Toneth's description, and he is mentioned in Care A's description. The current consensus is that this is the same Mike each instance and that he is Rainer's brother. However, something doesn't quite add up. We know that Mike died in 1995 and that Rainer began working on Petscop in 1996, but then we see Mike react to Rainer's drawing of Toneth calling it a "funny stupid blob monster." So how did Mike see the picture if he was already dead before work began on Petscop?

There are a few possibilities that I can see. First, Mike could have been reacting to early concept art of Toneth. The problem with this theory is that the description goes on to say "I already hung him on a wall, too late to take it back." This seems to indicate that the picture was drawn later in development and there wasn't time to fix it, which wouldn't be the case if it was drawn as concept art.

The next possibility is that Mike's quote in Toneth's description is completely unrelated to both Toneth and Petscop. This is entirely possible due to the incoherent way the description is written, but it is far more likely that everything in that description is connected even if it isn't immediately apparent how.

The next possibility is that there is more than one character named Mike. The only problem here is that we know from Petscop 12 that only family members have rooms in the child library, which means that the dead Mike would have to be the one related to Rainer.

So if this is correct what does it mean? I'm not really sure. It could mean that Mike isn't really dead. It could mean that Rainer is being haunted by his dead brother (literally or figuratively). It could tie back to all the other weird time anomalies in Petscop. Or maybe it's just a small over site on the part of the creators of the series and I'm just thinking too hard about this.

Anyway I would like to know what you all think. Is there anything I missed, or is there a simpler explanation for all of this?
