If my male cat hears or sees me heading to the water closet, he will often bolt inside before I close the door. Now, this cat doesn't follow me everywhere- but for some reason he loves to hang out when I'm using the john- sometimes he rubs up on my legs and purrs, sometimes he likes to groom himself, sometimes he just watches.

My theory is that it's some kind of bonding- like "yeah we are bros, I know this because you let me watch you poop". It makes him feel secure when I let him take part in such a private thing for cats- making waste. What's your theory? Power move? Submissive? Why do cats LOVE to join you when you're taking a crap?
