Post Body

So the kitten was found on the side of the road, no chip/collar and decided to take her in assuming nobody responded to posts within the 10x day limit. She has her vet appt. Tuesday morning but Iā€™m not sure how to handle this.

She is extremely clingy to the point that I canā€™t do anything but give her constant attention. I pick up my phone/PS5 controller/remove she has to come run her face into my hands on the controller and just needs constant attention/pets but on the flip side constantly lunges at my hands/arms with claws out and trying to bite me.

I disengage and either get a toy or pick her up and near a toy and before too long sheā€™s running around then back to me for pets or so it seems and then claws out trying to bite my hands. Sheā€™s around 3 months we ā€œthinkā€ and obviously sheā€™s going to be more energetic and silly but how do I balance teaching her not to go after peopleā€™s hands like that with her being so clingy that she always has to be near me, especially when Iā€™m sitting or laying down. I was looking at some articles saying to play with them for 5-15 minutes in the morning and again at night but I played with here for an hour this morning and she was still going right for the hand lunging. (I have the wand toy with feathers and a mouse on a string and was throwing a ball with a bell down the hallway back and forth .)

The only time sheā€™ll really leave me be is when Iā€™m cleaning cause Iā€™m moving around a bunch and I guess the cleaning spray stinks to her but Iā€™m trying to figure this out while sheā€™s as young as possible because itā€™s driving me nuts.
