my baby kitten just passed away

I've only had him for 3 weeks but he was so playful and active. Would sit on my lap and purr and watch videos with me. And he'd try to steal my food, I would have to pick him up and move him. Benson was only 3 months old... he was so still when normally he was up and running all over. I dont know what to do. It was an accident, he fell and landed wrong, but I keep thinking about things I could've done. He had just gotten up from my lap bc I had to pee. Maybe if I hadn't gotten up. Hes just a baby.
