My cat had a bad stroke. I did all I could for him the last day and half, but in the end, it was time. He died in my arms about an hour ago. He was warm and nose to nose with me.
I’m a vet tech (in vet school now), and I’ve seen more animals than I can count pass away, even my own. But there is something altering about what just happened to me. Holding your pet all night, knowing at any moment they are going to die. Hear the death rattle come, thinking it’s snoring, then realizing what’s happening. Watching your pet take it’s last breath in your arms. I don’t know how I’m ever going to handle this or be ok again.
He was the best and sweetest cat I’ve ever had, and the world is going to be worse without him.
