Ex wife texted me after work today that the dog we got as a puppy in 2014 had passed away yesterday.

Molly was the runt of the litter and she had frequent issues with skin rashes, ear infections and the like. She definitely scratched a lot the past few years despite us trying a lot of different medications. Not quite sure what the cause was honestly, probably a multitude of factors. I always had hoped she’d live 15-20 years.

I hadn’t seen her for a few months since she stayed with my ex. Molly came up to stay with me while my daughter was visiting, it was always nice having her around. She was the best little cuddle buddy anyone could ask for. I never had the best luck with dogs prior to Molly and she definitely takes the spot for the top dog in my life. I just wish I could have spent more time with her in the past year and half since I moved away.

Honestly what hurts the most is I never got to say goodbye. I can only hope she knows how much I love her.
