Iâm 5â3, 116 lbs and Iâve been lifting weights for a year and a half. I started out underweight, but my weight fluctuated quite a lot before that and my diet wasnât the best. Even when underweight, I always had a layer of fat. Now, I am pretty happy with my workout routine and diet, had great progress on those and I also gained a significant amount of muscle. However, I still have the layer of fat, and while I totally understand that my weight doesnât need to go down and I am not trying to look like a vs model, I want to look like I workout. I still have a gut, my legs are still quite jiggly. I wanted to get rid of the layer of fat and start building muscle again from then on, but I am wondering now if this goal is attainable for me. I have trouble staying consistent with a deficit if itâs under 1600 kcals, and I also noticed my sweet cravings and junk food cravings go crazy at about the second week mark of a deficit, which doesnât happen ever when I eat my normal, balanced diet. Is it worth it to do that, or you go back the second youâre off the deficit? What are your tips for staying consistent and have any of you done recomp at maintainance? Macro suggestions, meal suggestions, even motivational stuff works.
