I posted this on r/loseit, but though this sub might be a little more help!
Not sure where to start. I am an 18-year old female, 4 foot 11 and weigh around 150 pounds, 149.4 as of this morning. Throughout high school, I started to get insecure about my body and my parents motivated me to exercise and have a healthier diet (although I never had an issue with an "unhealthy" diet, just overeating).
I asked my parents for a nutritionist in Feb. of this year starting at 153 pounds. I was doing good and really learning how to balance this with also having a social life. At first the weight was coming off a little slow, but it was consistent. Now, I've been staying the exact same for almost 2 months. I feel like 5 months?? People lose like 50 pounds in that time and I've barely lost 5!
I just dont understand. I feel like I'm tracking my food right, I exercise for about 1hr and 30 mins daily, I eat out for one meal once to twice a week and I drink plently of water. This entire thing has been literally consuming my daily life. It's all I ever think about. Even if I'm relaxing watching youtube, I'm watching recipes to make or "what I eat in a day for fat loss." I love lifting and all that gymbro nonsense, but I literally am going insane thinking about it consistantly.
Anyways, yes, I've been tracking my food for a few months now. I've been eating around 1500-1600 calories, at least 100g of protein (135 is my goal). I weight train about 4-5x a week for 45 mins to 1 hour. I do 30 minutes of cardio everyday after lifting and on my rest days. Although I haven't been tracking my steps lately, I am confident enough to say that I get around 8-10k daily. I weigh every morning and take an average of it weekly. Every once in a while I measure my wasit, which has been sitting around 32-35 inches since starting with a nutritionist. My goal weight is 125 pounds and I know that with gaining muscle, you gain weight, but I haven't been getting stronger (in fact I haven't been able to lift my maxes for the last 2 months) and my waist size has not gone down.
I'm just not sure how to go on with this. I no longer am in contact with my nutritionist (literally 2 days ago), not that she did a bad job, but I was wanting to give it a try on my own. The last thing she told me was that once I stop making progress, I need to go back to my maintenance calories. That just seems so counter-productive to me and I don't understand. I'd really appreciate some help and or motivation.
TLDR: I am an 18-year old female, 4 foot 11 and weigh around 150 pounds. I weight train 4-5x a week for 45 mins and 30 mins of cardio everyday. I eat around 1500 calories and at least 100g of protein daily (with maybe 2 meals a week I don't track). Starting my weight loss journey in Feb, I've lost... 3 pounds. Not sure what to do.
