Hi all! Just hoping for some advice/motivation/etc. I packed on more pounds than I’d care to admit after I began working from home due to the pandemic and also as a result of moving in with my partner (that happy relationship weight gain is real, lol). I attempted to lose the weight last year, and managed to drop a few pounds, but the strict calorie counting and extremely slow progress absolutely killed my motivation. But now I want to give it a second go, this time moreso focusing on just becoming healthier.
I’m not so much looking to hardcore count calories this time around. I found that my first attempt really opened my eyes as to how many calories are in foods and what a reasonable portion size is. So, I’m just wanting to be more mindful of what I eat and how much I eat and adapt healthier eating habits (I’m an extremely picky eater, and am working on incorporating more veggies into my diet!) I also want to start exercising…just planning to do a bit of time on the exercise bike I have daily and then maybe start doing different exercises (I legit know nothing about exercise, lol).
For me, my goal isn’t to see the number on the scale drop…I’m within a healthy BMI, albeit on the higher end of it. I just want to better take care of my body and feel good in my body. But I am majorly struggling to find the motivation to do that. So, how did you all find the motivation to begin living a healthier lifestyle? Any other tips?
