Help...Trying To Isolate Muscle Gain In Butt

Kids, age and life, it's gotten flat as it happens. I feel like sitting for long periods is actually more painful these days.
I've been doing a lot of butt exercises and I am noticing an increase in my gluteus medius, which I do not want! I really just want to build up the lowest half of my ass, I think to do this I need exercises to target the deep muscles under the gluteus.
Any recs of exercises to target this area, would be appreciated.
