I just found out this week I have adrenal insufficiency (extremely low cortisol levels) which finally explains all my crazy symptoms but also means I have to stop strength training while my body recovers…for at least 12 months, maybe 2 to 3 years.
To say I’m bummed about having to drop all my goals is an understatement.
But what I’m wondering is what I do with my calories when I now have to drop all activity except for short, slow walks. I’ve been in a deficit for about 3 months, eating 1400 - 1600. I haven’t seen any changes on the scale despite 4x weekly strength training and walking 15k steps a day.
So now that my activity is almost sedentary….how the heck am I supposed to not gain weight? I don’t want to drop below 1400 but I can’t see how that number is even going to result in maintenance. Ranting, thank you for listening!!!
For reference I’m 162cm (5ft 3) and 60kg (132 pounds).
