Need fashion advice please!
Post Body

Hi,

So... I'll be real here. I have no idea what I'm doing with "fashion" or "style". I stick to blue jeans and t-shirts all the time. But... I need to just try something different. I'm scared, but it's time. And I WANT to try something different. I've been struggling with depression lately, and I think changing up my style and stuff might help. I recently got acrylic nails for the first time (nothing fancy, short nude style) and recently cut my hair, and my friend taught me out to do my makeup, and it felt SOOO GOOD. But now, I just need to tackle my wardrobe.

I work about 50 hours a week (and basically my whole life revolves around my job, of which I love, especially because of COVID and not being able to really go anywhere)

I work as a health advocate at a residential adult treatment center that is on about 10 acres of land in TX. This includes lots of walking on uneven terrain, working outside in rain, snow, wind, or excessive sunshine.

I want to find some new styles that fit well with my work and would love love love some advice! Any advice at all. Please, I need some guidance lol. Because like I said, I have no idea what I'm doing.

Ok so here's a rough idea of my work dress-code/what works or doesn't work with my specific kind of job/personal preferences

  • No dresses or skirts (although I like them, can't wear them to work)
  • No jeans with holes (again, love them but can't with work)
  • No shorts that are shorter than knee length (so like, knee length bermudas are okay)
  • No tank tops that are shorter than 4 fingers (think back to high school)
  • No open toed shoes
  • Nothing see through
  • Can't wear leggings, unless I have something covering my butt, but even if I do I feel uncomfortable because it's not very professional
  • professional style wear, doesn't quite fit with the vibe of the job. It's more casual, but not too casual.
  • Since I walk a lot at work, comfortable shoes are a must. I tend to stick to tennis shoes, converse, canvas sneakers or boots as that's just what I've been used to.
  • also, comfortable clothes are a must because there's lots of moving around, agility, lifting things, bending down, etc. Sometimes even running (So like, blazers don't quite work) nice, flowing clothes work best. Also since there's lots of moving around, and living in Texas, it gets really hot in the spring/summer/fall so sweating can be a thing.
  • no graphic tees with deragatory imaging or words (cursing, drug or alcohol use, political, etc.

  • I'm nootttt really a fan of pink (or purple, but some purples are okay). I prefer dark or neutral colors.

  • I get really uncomfortable with frills. While I want to try new things, I still want to feel comfortable and confident in what I'm wearing. Frilly things, turtle necks, fluff, idk... Pretty much most things you'd find in Vogue or whatever just doesn't appeal to me. I'm pretty basic and simplistic.

  • I'm a very textile person. Soft things, flowy things, etc are what I love. (I have diagnosed OCD, so I hate things like microfiber or wool)

If it helps, I'm 26 years old, petite (about 5'1), fair skin, blonde hair (dirty blonde with natural highlights), brown eyes and have several tattoos (not like, a lot... But more than the average person)

Also, tattoos are 100% acceptable at my job. If you don't have tattoos, you kind of stand out 😂 so it's not a problem wearing stuff that show off my tattoos.

Idk if any of this helps. Hell, I don't even know if anyone would reply to this, or even read all of this or would be willing to help but I would GREATLY appreciate any advice, guidance or direction anyone has to offer. Thank you so much.
