Quitting long enough to pass a drug test and my stomach is not happy

Post Body

I’ve been smoking/vaping weed daily for years, only stopping for the 30 days long enough to pass a drug test for a new job. Well a couple years ago I stopped smoking for about 30 days prior to my new job drug test and had very little withdrawal symptoms after the first couple days. Well here I am again trying for a new job which I know will test so I stopped cold turkey in preparation. Whenever I go without, my stomach is the first to be affected. Feelings of nausea and complete loss of appetite are the first symptoms to hit. Trouble falling asleep and staying asleep are the next usual symptoms for me. It’s only day 3 with no weed, but it feels different and worse this time around. I’ve had to force myself to eat even a couple bites of something and I’ve had the worst sleep, just staring at the ceiling for hours with time to reflect on all my body aches and everything wrong in my life, but the depression and irritability are new symptoms I’m having trouble shaking off.

What tips and tricks have you found help the most with all these symptoms?

Part of me is wondering if I should just wait until after January 2024 to start the job search again because here in CA it will be against the law to discriminate a potential new hire based on a drug test positive for only marijuana. I really want the new job sooner than later though. 😬 Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
