My zone 2 is roughly 135-145 bpm. I've found that if I use an exercise bike or rowing machine I can operate in this range no problem for 40 minutes, but when I jog at just about the slowest possible pace I always exceed zone 2 within a quarter mile. I'll walk a little to bring it down and then jog again, but can never go much more than a minute before crossing into zone 3. What's weird is that it still feels incredibly easy, while the bike/rowing workouts I mentioned above will feel more difficult but I stay in zone 2 the whole time. Anyone else experience this? Do I just need to get more accustomed to running? Apologies if this question gets asked every day in this sub.
