me: “You were wasting so much time over deciding what to eat that we’re not going to make it for the movie!”

them: “it’s fine.”

no no no. no. wdym “its fine”. it affects ME as well. if youre late, and you dont care about the movie, and im not with you, then sure. its fine to you. but YOU caused US to be late. Don’t say its fine. its not. at least apologise. read the room.

I get to say it. not you. because im the one outraged by it. if i decide to cool off later and forgive and forget, thats when i get to say it.

This is basically like the concept of "forgiving yourself." We don't have that power. Those whom we've harmed can forgive us, or not.

The question is never whether or not we can forgive ourselves, but whether or not we believe in the forgiveness God offers.
