As a normal sized person I can say that it's honestly fucked up. I feel like you can't make fun of mentally handicapped people, other sexual orientations, other races, etc. so you turn to fat people. It's just sad.
I am a recovering addict who has been clean for six years. While I gave up drugs and alcohol my addict mind turned to food. It's something I really struggle with. You can stay away from drug dealers and bars but you can't really avoid food. It's such a huge part of our culture. So many people think its just "Put the fork down fatty." and that is just not the case.
Most overweight people struggle with past trauma, mental health, or addiction and they use food to cope. That should be respected the same as any addiction. It's just wild how you could not treat any other demographic like people treat the overweight and get away with it. I am not trying to justify being obese but people could honestly stand to have a little sympathy. It's such a complicated issue and people have such juvenile takes on the subject.
Edit: I wish you guys could see my inbox. It proves my point
Edit 2: I am absolutely not trying to promote or justify poor lifestyle choices. I just expect we treat people with fucking dignity. Jesus Christ!
Absolutely. There is always two sides to everything everything.
I'm overweight with all 8 abdominal showing. I do tend to agree lol
Yes!
We were at a "party" one time and this woman literally told my wife she could not be friends with her because she was two skinny!?!?!
We just looked at each other and walked away.
My wife and I workout and stay healthy. Yrsm..genetics help her, but I have to really work at it to stay fit.
Life is full of choices...
Right?!?! And then comes up with dumb fad diets. "Just watch your carbs"...proceeds to eat 5k calories a day
I'm gonna hard disagree with you on one of your points. Most overweight people actually struggle from the same thing that most other Americans deal with. They have no clue what makes them gain weight and how many calories they're consuming. Couple that with a genetically slower metabolism...70% of America is overweight and 40% are obese. There's so much more at play here than "they're all big sadsies."
My wife gets shamed for being "skinny"....usually by large women...She is 5'6" and 107 lbs.
She has always been slender. Only gained 15 lbs while pregnant.
Its funny (to me) that the same people who get shamed for being large, are usually the ones shaming her for being small.
Just the other day a group of grown women walked passed us and said "eat a hamburger!".
So it's not just one sided.
Oh...and my wife is beautiful...not "skinny" by my standards. She has cuves in all the right places and a amazing butt. See profile if interested....but it's NFW. Lol.
Hang in there op. Love yourself and try and ignore the world.

Right?
But I think that just proves the point.
