Long-term Cat-At-Home question
Post Body

My family are on an extended stay out-of-state, leaving our cat (orange tabby) at home. He previously was fine being home alone for up to 12 days, but about 2.5 weeks in he started causing a bit of a ruckus (family friend checks in on him, he's misbehaving :P). Any way to help remedy this? we have another 2 months to be away but can go back temporarily at will - road is about 15 hrs long in each direction. Options we thought of:

  • Visiting him for a week, then leaving till he starts stressing out again (perhaps every 2-3 weeks) -> very inconvenient but not unmanageable
  • Bring him to here - our living space allows for pets but we may run into other problems
  • Vidcalling him (perhaps every time family friend visits)

Kitty has warmed up to family friend btw, he's usually quite cautious about strangers though he knew this person a little already

If you have any questions to help answer our query please ask; we're quite worried about him but don't know the best path
