I just wanted to point out though I LOVE my 2 fur-babies (8 3), neither one of them have ever learned to cover their poop. Ever. I’d try to have them there while I covered it up. No luck. I tried to take their paws and help them scoop. No luck. They both just poop on top of the litter every 👏 single 👏 time👏. And one of them even scratches the walls around the box, or even thin air, as some awkward attempt to remove the smell of poo from the air but not actually scratching anything that matters. Oh well. Silly kitties.
