My cat is a 7 year old neutered boy. He has urinated on things like bedding in the past but I figured out it was because he won’t use the litter box if it’s dirty at all, and so I have to clean it daily now, hasn’t happened since.

But twice in the past week he has peed on my lap while I was either sitting or laying down on the couch. I think it could be because my roommates cat has began sleeping at my feet recently and maybe it’s territorial? He usually sleeps on my chest but I have woken up to them fighting over top of me once a few days ago.

Affording a vet bill rn would be really tough on my budget but I can probably make it possible next month, but I’m wondering if anyone has advice on how I can help this situation immediately/if it’s necessary to take him to the vet. He doesn’t seem sick in any way, and is using the litter box normally otherwise.
