Should I get a fancy rat or a bear hamster?

I’m going back and forth on which one to get. My prior experience with small animals is that I use to have a chinchilla and guinea pig when I was younger and I had them both their entire lives and enjoyed both of them. I think they are both cool and cute looking but I don’t know what there temperaments are like or which one would be more of the playful type.
