Do I take voluntary redundancy in the current climate?
Post Body

I'm a gov employee and I have been offered voluntary redundancy at $25k. My salary is $113000 a year. I haven't enjoyed my job for some time now and it's getting worst with all the cuts, however I do have good flexibility and work/life balance as well as enjoying a decent pay.

I am in my late 20's, I have no partner, no kids, no pets, no mortgage and no dependants, also no parents that could help me out financially.

I'm really craving a change in career, travel, time off, however it feels very difficult to walk away from such a high paying job knowing that I won't walk into another job that pays the same. I've been applying for other roles but I haven't heard anything back yet and they are all significantly lower pay, which would require a change in lifestyle.

I want to travel but I won't be able to move overseas because I would be sacrificing my citizenship for NZ which I'm eligible for in three years, I also really love NZ and the town I live in. I'm also concerned that I would have to move back to Wellington in order to find work, which I really don't want to do.

Thank you for any advice.
