I was lead to believe that since its a charge card i dont get dinged on my credit score when making big payments (I used to have a CIBC aeroplan card with 4k limit), so I was a bit disappointed when I saw a drop on my Equifax score, partly because of 100% utilization rate.
IS this just for the first month or will it keep being this way? If I were to get the Amex Gold or the Air Canada Reserve card would that change anything or are they all charge cards and would have the same issue?
Bonus question: Can i keep the current card (to get the full 6 months bonus points) and get an extra Amex and then close the first one after 6 months or is it only one at a time?
Bonus Bonus: Can people confirm that there is no income requirement for the Aeroplan reserve card? is there a credit score level that they look for?
thanks!
