How to Get Credit Score over 800?
Post Flair (click to view more posts with a particular flair)
Post Body

Currently have 5 credit cards. I used to have credit card debt from 2010 to 2020. I recently paid off all my debts in the past year and saw my credit score sitting from about a 590 and now sitting at a 737. I now carry no balances whatsoever and always pay off all balances in full by the end of the month. I actually go into my banking app after each purchase I make and pay off whatever it is I just purchased. So for example, if I bought a cup of coffee, I’d go into my banking app when I get home and make a bill payment for the amount that I charged my credit card for that coffee. Not sure if this is a good thing to do? Or should I just transfer the amount of each item/thing I charge to my credit card and transfer those funds into a separate savings account…and then take that money back out at the end of the month and just pay one big racked up credit card bill? I’ve avoided this since I’ve paid off my credit card debts to make sure I don’t get overwhelmed or miscalculate by the end of each month.

To give you a little backstory, I also am paying off my student loans with OSAP and that account is in good standing with no payment issues or anything like that. I have never declared bankruptcy either. I’m going to take a wild guess and say that I might have issues getting that score past 800 because of having an open account with a balance of about $26k (for my student loan).

Then again, it’s only been about a year since I brought my last 10 years of credit card debt down to $0, so I do understand it’ll take some time to see a difference but, I just wanted to get some advice in terms of how I can really take care of my credit score and that if there are any tips anyone can offer to to increase the score?

Any tips/advice/constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated.
