Home Buyers Plan & RRSP question
Post Body

I participated in the Home Buyers Plan in 2017 to purchase my first home. I took out the maximum amount from my RSP at the time (35k). In 2017 I was working at a private company so I was putting money into the RSP on my own (no company match).

Fast forward to the end of 2020; I got a new job at a company which has a group RRSP and have defined contributions bi-weekly.

Will the defined contributions to the RRSP at my new job count towards payment of the 35k from the home buyers plan (2017)? Hope this makes sense...

Thanks!
