Hi,
My gf who is from Latin-America came over to live with me, we became common law. She got PR and after 3 years we took a break. We are still together in paper, (since it hasn't been more than 6 months) we're thinking of being back together probably but for now, we live separately.
She told me that because we were together she lost her GST, (I think I did too. Not sure..)
So now that we are living separately she wanted to ask me if I could give her half of my GST checks.
To be honest, not sure how this works, and she does not seem to be malicious it feels to me like she honestly thinks she is entitled to it. It's made me doubt, and bureaucracy isn't my forte.
Is she? what do other couples with similar situations do?
Is there a rule of thumb?
Thanks for the help
