Advice on student loans.

Post Body

Long story my girlfriend is moving to Toronto from BC for dental hygiene school. We applied through student aid bc for a student loan and after a long process they said the max they can give is 14.5k, for 9 months (it's two 9 month 'semesters'), tuition alone for the first 9 months is 32k, add in rent, transportation costs and you see why we're seeking advice. Her parents have told her and student aid bc that they will be giving her zero money and help, and she herself can contribute a max of about 5k, she's been a full time student since highschool so she hasn't been able to save much yet.

Should we go to bank? Td and CIBC seem like good options.

Right now shes just feeling very frustrated and overwhelmed and with school starting May 1st she's stressed because she doesn't want to move across country and have it all be for nothing.

Any advice or input would be great, whether it be advice on getting more student aid bc, how to approach the banks or anything else.

Thanks!
