On mobile, so sorry about any typos.
I’m here at the hospital with my father (77) because of some back/hip pain issues. When I went to pick him up his land lady suggested we look at moving him to some kind of assisted living arrangement, as she isn’t equipped to provide the care he increasingly needs. He mostly blind, diabetic, and this last week he’s been increasingly not with it mentally. The mental stuff could just be from a lack of sleep due to his hip/back pain, but still. We’ve talked to my dad about it before, but he insisted that he both doesn’t need it, and even if he could it would be too expensive. We looked at some places here (Victoria BC), but there is no way he can afford it, and my wife and I aren’t in a position to help him out or take care of him. I’m really not sure what to do? Is there any options?
