I’ve been invested in a Fidelity medium risk mutual fund for several years now in a TFSA. The fund has performed quite well, but I’m a lot more educated than I used to be with respect to fee differences between mutual funds and ETF’s.
I am interested in your suggestions for the best ETF’s for long term investing. Right now I’m in XEQT, but I think I can move to something a bit riskier, considering my age, very low expenses, no debt, and no mortgage. I was thinking something S&P500, or Nasdaq, since I really do believe in tech moving forward. I’m open to any suggestions. Please provide a detailed rationale.
I’d also like to note that I am RDSP eligible, so my plan was to contribute $1,500/year to that as well, which I’m assuming can be put into an ETF. My goal is to retire as quickly as possible, and I think I should be able to invest $2k/month if I stay remain frugal.
