Hello,
I have the BMO Ascebd World Elite Mastercard and purchased my iPhone on it back in August.
Not even 3 weeks later, while Iām at the gym, I go to fill up my water bottle. I think not even 20 feet away from where I was working out and left my by there too. This is a private gym, only accessible for members (Anytime Fitness).
When I came back, my phone was gone. I looked around, tried to get security cameras footage (none available), and filed a police report.
Then I submitted my claim to Allianz.
They denied my claim saying Due Dilligence was not practiced and that I left my phone behind in public. I submitted an appeal and they denied that too. Again, stating the same reasons.
I disagree because: 1. I was within 20 feet of my belongings 2. I was not directly by them for not even 3 minutes. 3. I am in a private facility, with the expectation of basic security. The building can only be accessed with a FOB and there are cameras everywhere. 4. My AirPods were connected so I could expect that my phone is reasonable with me.
This seems like BS to me. I had reasonable care and expectations being taken. Is there any way I can further have them review this and have them change their decision?
